Tonight in Seattle:

Death Cab for Cutie to perform "Don't You (Forget About Me)" this Friday

If you find yourself home this Friday night (January 15), tune into the Critics' Choice Movie Awards on VH1. The awards show is going to feature a much-deserved John Hughes Tribute and our very own Death Cab for Cutie will be one of the bands participating. Word on the street is that they will be covering the Simple Minds song, "Don't You (Forget About Me)" {The Breakfast Club}.

The program starts at 9pm, although I don't know exactly when the John Hughes Tribute portion will begin.

What song do you want to hear covered? Something from Ferris Bueller's Day Off would be so choice.

Dear Mr. Vernon, we accept the fact that we had to sacrifice a whole Saturday in detention for whatever it was we did wrong. What we did *was* wrong. But we think you're crazy to make an essay telling you who we think we are. You see us as you want to see us... In the simplest terms, in the most convenient definitions. But what we found out is that each one of us is a brain... and an athlete... and a basket case... a princess... and a criminal.

Does that answer your question?

Sincerely yours,
The Breakfast Club

I'd vote for The Thompson Twins "If You Were Here" from the end of Sixteen Candles. "Make a wish" | "It already came true". I LOVE YOU JAKE RYAN! :)
id like to hear "pretty in pink" although the national have got that one covered.
You should check out High School Reunion - a tribute to those great 80's films for some cool covers of songs that appeared in John Hughes teen films and others like Valley Girl, Fast Times and more. I've owned this CD since 2005 and it's in constant rotation.
The singer in plastic surgery for the dorky stage. I mean, it was a John Hughes, the man (or the movie?, tribute. I've missed the follow-up. Do tell, the obligatory photos of the show?
