New locations for the Crocodile's shows
Submitted by ChrisB on December 20, 2007.If you look at the Crocodile's website, you won't get the impression that there's anything wrong. They've got shows booked through May. Yet, even those of us living under rocks know that isn't the case and the show(s) must go on. Hopefully all of them.
Because many people are surely scrambling to find locations for these shows and I'm sure a few people out there have tickets already, I'm trying to put together a list of the new locations of all of the shows that were booked at the Crocodile. I'm sure this list is not at all exhaustive and I will try to come up with more as I find them. If you know of others, please leave them in comments below or e-mail me at chrisb AT threeimaginarygirls.com and I'll update this list as soon as I can. Here's what I came up with so far:
12/20 - Imaginary Liz's Birthday Party with Tullycraft, Jon Rahouse & Rachel Flotard, and Your Favorite Book is now at El Corazon.
1/16 - Jeremy Enigk is now at Chop Suey.
1.19 - Kulture Shock is now at Chop Suey.
1/21 - Ingrid Michaelson is now at Nectar.
1/24 - Ben Kenney and DJ Kilmore (of Incubus) is now at El Corazon.
1/26 - Bobby Bare Jr. with members of the Decemberists is now at the Tractor Tavern.
2/8 - Matt Costa with Delta Spirit is now at El Corazon.
2/13 - Bedouin Soundclash with Westbound Train and Beat Union is now at Chop Suey.
2/26 - A Place to Bury Strangers is now at Chop Suey.
3/5 - Tilly and the Wall is now at Chop Suey.
3/7 Matthew Good is now at the Tractor Tavern.
3/18 Beach House and Papercuts is now at Chop Suey.

I didn't mean to take your job or anything like that, Seratonein. Just trying to make it easier for everyone to find the where the shows are. So, yes, please e-mail him instead.

Oh definitely -- please send submissions to both addresses.
Events@threeimaginarygirls.com is ALWAYS the place to get your show listed on our imaginary calendar by imaginary serotonein. ChrisB is just keeping a temporary listing of moved Croc shows, in case you want to see 'em all in one place.
But keeping the calendar updated -- that's crucial.

Just a note to bands that are rescheduling their shows -- it should go without saying, but make sure you communicate with the new venue as much as possible.
My band played last night at El Corazon (they picked up our 12/19 Croc show), and we were surprised to find out that the admission price had been raised from $6 to $10. We weren't informed of the change, and the new price wasn't listed on their website, so it was a bit of a shock when our fans mentioned that they'd had to pay ten bucks to get in. That's a pretty steep upcharge.
Still, we appreciated El Corazon jumping in for us at the last minute, and the show was fun. Just a word to the wise -- keep your eyes open!

no worries, chris, i didn't suspect ulterior motives :) that's why i just requested being cc'd on the updates.
i think having an updated list in one place will be very helpful, especially for anyone who bought advance tix. also, i'm not deleting croc entries on the calendar, just updating as i hear about the changes, so this is a good resource for any confusion.

All I have to say about the closing of The Croc is this.
If anybody finds a wooden nickel under the ticket counter thingy, it's mine.
I was going to offer it to Luke of the High Violets in exchange for a CD, but it totally slipped out of my hand and rolled under the ticket counter, I didn't want to go back there and fish it out because it might look like I was trying to boost the till or something.
So, again, any wooden nickels, call me.

We moved our Jan 17th croc show to the Chop Suey on Jan 14th w/ Throw me the Statue. That is all.

As I've heard it, our March 8 show (The Jones Family Fortune, North Twin, Dusty 45's) has been moved to El Corazon on that same evening.

this is great, but i'd request that for any potential responders, updates also be emailed to events@threeimaginarygirls or use the submission form on the contact page.
the calendar editor will take all the help he can get keeping up with the changes :)
