One show not to be missed this weekend: Fish the Cat Records' Toys for Tots Benefit at the Mars Bar

There are lots of great shows this weekend: the Cops all-ages CD release, the Thermals, I could go on. But one show I highly endorse would be the 7th Annual Fish the Cat Records Toys for Tots benefit at the Mars Bar. It is deserving of both a plug here on the Imaginary Blog and your presence.

I've been to a few over the past several years and they are always a good time. The acts who play are always some of the finest and most diverse in town - and this year is no exception. The bill, headlined by the always exciting Ms. Led, also features Brent Amaker & the Rodeo, the Missile Toes, Rope Inc., Bre Loughlin, Department of Energy, Daniel G. Harmann, and Rosyvelt.

A big congratulations is in order to Lesli Wood for organizing such an event that has become a staple in Seattle every Christmas season, for keeping it going for seven years and for keeping it at the small, yet comfortable, Mars Bar.

The cover is $7 or $5 with a new toy. Rocking out to great local music while making a child's Christmas quite a bit better: priceless.

In other Ms. Led news, the band celebrates the release of the video they shot last month for the song "New Agenda" at the Crocodile with H is For Hellgate and the Shondes.

Another way to give 7 bucks to Toys For Tots and getting something in return is to buy the Peace on Earth album found here:

http://hardtofindafriend.blogspot.com/

It includes The Long Winters covering the Harvey Danger song "Sometimes You Have to Work on Christmas (Sometimes)"
