Throw Me the Statue gets love from Stereogum

Yet another local Seattle band is getting big-time online love, and this time it's from the amazing and inspiring Stereogum, who are going ga-ga for Throw Me the Statue.

We don't blame them in the least, as the band is most worthy.

Stereogum dubbed them a "Band to Watch" and had these kind words to say:

Seattle multi-instrumentalist Scott Reitherman aka Throw Me The Statue throws a perfect storm of clatter into his homey pop.... The absolutely addictive "Lolita" hits like Bob Pollard's beloved Kinks asking us to, please, come dancing. The overall hiss and crash sets an Eric's Trip atmosphere, though on more a Shrimper kick.

Throw Me the Statue will open for now-labelmate Jens Lekman on November 6th at Nectar. If you are an indie-pop fan and see only one show this entire month, make it this one.

"now-labelmate Jens Lekman"? Isn't he on the same label as Black Bear?
