New releases for the week, from Easy Street Records
Submitted by Jflores on October 29, 2007.This week's new releases looks like some kinds of flashback or a Halloween trick, but alas it's true: Arrested Development, Backstreet Boys, Blues Traveler, and Britney are all back with new records.
Best news of the week is the release of Carrie Akre's Last The Evening {see review}. Even if you don't know her from her other work, this is still a remarkable album and features the (drum) work of other local favorite Mark Pickerel.
Want some fall funk? Pick up Sharon Jones and The Dap Kings.
Want sweet crooning? Tift Merrit joins the list of illustrious folks who have been featured in the Austin City Limits "Live From Austin Texas" series today.

I am SO behind on new music!
Nicole has been in my "to listen" pile for weeks and I haven't gotten to her yet.
I do like the bits I have heard in the store, but hardly counts as a listen!
Maybe if she tags along with the Pipettes for their In Store we can chant her onto the stage too.

Jesse, have you heard Nicole Atkins yet? I think you'd really likey. You should try to get her in later this week when she's in town (playing on 11/1 with the Pipettes). I'd totally come!
