October has been unofficially deemed BOAT cover month
Submitted by imaginary dana on October 15, 2007.
According to our pals in Seattle band BOAT, October is the month of covers. If you go to www.ohnodisaster.com/boat, you can see the ever-updating list of BOAT covers submitted by other musicians and bands.
Here's the official word from BOAT spokesman H. Fozzelberry:
While the band takes the next month and a half to create some "new hits," check www.ohnodisaster.com/boat for periodic/sporadic/particularly sparse updates that include other people/bands covering BOAT's back catalog.
PS. If you have a BOAT cover to submit, then do it!
So far Z. Duffy has submitted a cover of "The Ferocious Sounds of Lobsters and Snakes" and Ricky from The Galactic Heroes has covered "Come With Me, We'll Win."
We'd like to heartily recommend that anyone remotely motivated to cover an awesome BOAT song do it now (and stop by here at TIG to tell us that you did it).

I recorded Trained By Trains! I emailed them an mp3 of it, but I haven't heard anything about it...

Of all the TIG staffers, I'm the least familiar with the BOAT catalogue, but I'm really, really loving Shane's version of "Trained by Trains". Everyone should download it!

"It was recorded by mystery man Shane Curry. We know very little about him, except he makes us imagine Daniel Johnston singing in a sexy voice. And he is capable of a face melting solo. If anyone knows Shane, could you give us more information about him? Where does he get his beefy tone? His creamy sustain?"
WOW Shane! BOAT luvs you loads!
And yes, this cover is fantastic. For those of you following along, check out all the BOAT covers at .

Oh, Dana! I think it was you who I had mentioned that puppet music video to, but if you go to www.myspace.com/shanecurry and scroll down, you should be able to watch it... for now anyway! :/
