Lately I've been obsessed with dessert writing, mostly because I started reading Cupcakes Take the Cake. That led me directly to reading Seattle's very own Cakespy.

Cakespy is a blog run by artist/writer Jessie Moore Oleson and if there is any place in Seattle that can satisfy your sugar cravings, she and her sweet tooth know about it. Last week, Cakespy celebrated its first year online and to celebrate both the blog's and Cakespy's personal birthdays, they're throwing a party.

It's at the Cupcake Royale in Ballard on Saturday, August 23, from 6-9 pm. Cupcake Royale will also be unveiling a brand new flavor of cupcakes that very day. More details are here.
