Fresh out of the box (literally), the new Long Winters live DVD will be available for sale everywhere tomorrow. Order it here from Barsuk, who gives a nice, condensed snapshot of the film:
In 2007, acclaimed Seattle indie rock band The Long Winters returned home from a grueling several-month international tour and played a rip-roaring set to over a thousand of their hometown fans at the still-intimate venue The Showbox. The set featured guest appearances by local music luminaries and Barsuk-roster labelmates, plus a full horn section. A local film crew was on hand to capture the performance as part of an ongoing documentary about the band, but the show and footage wound up being pretty great so DorsiaFilms is proud to be releasing the live at the showbox concert film in a limited-edition DVD pressing.
But wait! There's more!
One, check out the bottom of the Barsuk ordering page for three FREE live tracks from the DVD (do I smell a soundtrack?) that you can download. I grabbed them last night, and they are most excellent, both in content and in quality - "Scared Straight", "Clouds", and "Cinnamon".
Awesome.
And two, be sure to tune in to KEXP between 10a - 2p today Tuesday, as John Roderick will be stopping in to discuss the DVD with the super-lovely Cheryl Waters. Still waiting on an exact time, but really, why wouldn't you listen to the whole Midday Show? Seriously.

Long live the Long Winters!
I bought that DVD at Sonic Boom last week though, so, I think the release has happened.
It's quite wonderful. I don't think I've ever owned a concert film of a concert I was actually at before. So, I think I just got a little cooler.
