Art Brut's T-Mobile Commercial

I spent all morning trying to find an embeddable (is that even a word?) version of Art Brut's T-Mobile commerical that aired during the Grammys last night to no avail.

I guess it's for the best because I do accept money on a regular, bi-weekly basis from one of T-Mobile's competitors, but if you want to check it out (and I think it's pretty clever and funnier than T-Mobile's Of Montreal spot), you'll have to go to Stereogum or Idolator.

I won't be switching carriers or getting a Sidekick (I pay way too little for my service to do so), but I do want the Art Brut fondue set.

What do you guys think of this commercial? I just wonder how Eddie Argos' humor will play to people unfamiliar with the band.

finally, an indie band that I actually hate has sold out...phew...for a minute there I thought everyone on my ipod was going to hell

I think Eddie and Art Brut are excellent. They even put on a great show last year in an alcohol-free dump like the HUB. As for this commercial: I get it, it's semi-funny, definitely better than Barnes', and it doesn't bother me one bit that they made it. And most people won't get it or remember it.

So what DO you like, Shrie? Oh yeah, you're a big fan of Tuvan throat singing. Well, have fun with that.

i do have fun with throat singing, thanks!

for starters i like music that is actually good. if you happened to have read some of my previous communications on TIG then you would know that i like boards of canada, silver jews and pylon, to name a few.

just like you, and bob, we all use TIG to voice our opinions about music and the like. so comment on, fair reader.

I don't get Art Brut either. A band plays and the guy more or less just talks over the music in an English accent and everybody loves it. I guess it's cheeky (I always wanted to use that adjective).
