Exciting new Sigur Ros news

There is definitely some exciting updates for all my fellow "Victory Rose" fans--

Sigur Ros' new album, Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust, (bleh, let's have a competition for attempting to pronounce that one!) will be released around June 23rd, in less than two weeks. However, you can stream the new tracks directly from their website. This is what I'm currently doing, and so far the first two tracks are the most upbeat and sunniest I've heard in their catalog.

If you don't want to wait until the record store shelves them, you can of course pre-order it from Amazon or the above listed official website; I'm sure several pirate torrents have the tracks available by now.

If you can wait even longer, there is a super special Deluxe Edition, which their website says will include not only the CD, but an exclusive DVD and 192-page booklet, plus pre-release digital download and music video by this coming Monday. The tangible discs will be sent to you in mid-September.

And uhm, who wants a hop a plane to Reykjavik with me at the end of the month for their dual concert with Bjork for an almost impromptu environmental awareness concert? Wow, almost makes me want to take out a credit card to afford such an excursion.

There is also an EXTREMELY Not Safe For Work video available for first track "goobledigook" to watch on their official website, although you need to sign up with your email to download it. Same goes for YouTube -- you need to lsign up and og-in to confirm you're of age, so we can't embed the video. If you're up for it, you can watch it here.

Since I'm working from the safety of my neighborhood tea house, I took a look. Whoa, that's a whole lotta naked!

Congratulations Imaginary Elle! You are the first person in the history of the English language to use "exciting" and "Sigur Ros" in the same sentence!

This album's purdy good. I am a little amazed they can pull having so many songs sound relatively the same.
