Tonight in Seattle:

Holy crap this weekend was hot. Speaking of hot, see any hot live show action?

Hmmm?

Anyone stay inside long enough to hear some great live music? Which was the hottest venue in town, both music-wise and lack-of-AC-wise? I have some ideas, but would love to hear your votes...

Kay Kay and his Weathered Underground at KTUB! They were fantastic as always, but I was really pleasantly surprised at their opener, Man Down Medic (They won 3rd at this year's Sound Off! competition). Their show was really energetic and their sound was super full for such a young band. Violins, violas, amazing keys and just incredible talent. Everyone should check them out!

I saw The Valley, The Hands, and Thee Emergency at King Cobra last night. It was great until I started feeling sick from heat-induced dehydration (my own fault, not the club's), and had to leave early....

Within five minutes of its first appearance this year in Seattle, the sun had burned my Pacific Northwestern skin to a crisp. Therefore, taking refuge inside the El Corazon’s dark belly proved not only a relief to my skin, but a treat to my ears as I got to hear Patrol pound out some heavy homegrown Seattle rock and freaking roll. My only regret was that this show started so early—those still soaking up the Vitamin D outside missed one hell of a rockin' set!

The Glitch Mob at Nectar Friday nite, then Tipper, Bluetech, & Geno Cochino at Church of Bass Saturday nite. It was a booty shaking weekend for Lily!

Discs of Fury!!!
FUCKING AWESOME!!!!
YES! YES! YES! YES! YES!

The Valley RULED at King Cobra Saturday

Saw Tokyo Police Club at Neumo's, pretty good set, plus lots of sweat from the throng of underagers who think its cool to smash other people's feet. Seriously kids: dancing=yes, foot stomping=no.

I enjoyed the sun and saw excellent music at the same time! Blanket Truth, World History, Iji, and Team Awesome rocked it acoustic style in front of the Fremont troll! Then they all played later at Healthy Times Fun Club, which was surprisingly cool.

Someone Still Loves You, Boris Yeltsin and Port OBrien at Vera. SO good.
