In this year of reduced spending, will the 2009 lineup get you to The Gorge Memorial Day weekend?
I'm super interested in seeing Jane's Addiction, but not crazy about the whole camping with strangers in a field thing and spending hundreds of dollars. A single day pass may be what I opt for, in what would be my virgin year at Sasquatch.
The 2009 lineup. Discuss.

Janes Addiction and Nine Inch Nails? It's like it's 1994 and the original Loolapalooza all over again. Weird.
Excited for some of the local bands I see on there though! (Dutchess and the Duke, Pica Beats, Horse Feathers, Loch Lomond = A++.

In my first look, I'm severely underwhelmed, especially by the headliners. Kings of Leon are, at best, a mid-evening act & I don't like them, anyway. I have little to no interest in reliving the late 80's/early 90's with Jane's/NIN, either. If I recall correctly, Ben Harper pissed everyone off two years ago by being unwilling to move around his set time & then playing for an hour longer than scheduled. Why is he being rewarded?!
For the amount Sasquatch charges each day, and given the current state of the economy, you think they'd do their best to book some big names. I'm not seeing it. It's cool to see the small Seattle bands get to play the festival, but they're definitely a side-benefit. It's the touring bands who don't come to Seattle often that make it worth it to me.
If you discount the NW acts (including bigger bands like The Decemberists), I count 3 bands that interest me on Saturday & 3 on Monday. Not good. I've gone every year for at least one day, and usually two, but the amount of 'shitty-sounding bands I need to avoid' may outweigh the good this time.

I've never been motivated to spend all the money/effort to see Sasquatch (I generally dislike festivals). This year...is no exception. There are some great bands to be sure! (The Submarines, Grizzly Bear and Mt St Helens Vietnam Band are all ones I would see) But not enough to make it worth it to me.

I think the line up is AMAZING. One of the best festivals line ups ever. Perfect blend of national acts and all the good local stuff we've come to expect from Sasquatch.
I am hoping that Arthur & Yu on the bill means a new record soon! Why oh why do they have to rule so hard?

What's really cool about this is all the smaller bands in the line up, who I'd love to see all together in one place. Sort of the opposite of many festivals, the draw for me is the daytime/early evening performers! That's kind of awesome.

I've got to say, Saturday is kickass; Sasquatch at least got one day down pat this year. There are at least 9 bands I'd be really interested in seeing. However, the other days don't quite measure up, with only 2-3 bands each day being of interest to me... which just doesn't justify 10-12 hours of being at a festival and all the related costs.

1. I'll see many of these acts at SXSW.
2. Not nearly as exciting as the Coachella lineup.
3. I might go Monday, and leave after SSPU.

I see a whole lot of "meh" with an occasional spot of "Not bad". Not worth the trip, especially at the prices they're asking.
