I don't know about you guys, but Sasquatch has never really been my cup of tea. I'm sort of a whiner about huge festivals. But, book a bunch of indie pop bands that I love over a series of smaller venues? I'm there in a quicker than you can shake a tambourine. This Memorial Day Weekend, I'll be headed South instead of East to San Francisco Popfest! I'd basically decided I was going before there was a lineup, because, well, I love popfests. To my surprise the (partial) lineup is even better than I was hoping for!
The Popfest runs from May 21-24 and is at The Rickshaw Stop, Annie's Social Club and the Café du Nord. We're just posting the Rickshaw lineups right now, but stay tuned for Friday and Sunday lineups soon!

You Should check out Anderson Congress and the Manhattan Love Suicides on March 27th at the House of Shields! Both fantastic bands!

Paul - where is the Manhattan Love Suicides show? Holy crap I would love to see them!
Kiku - Seattle needs a popfest. It almost happened in 2007 but then Atlas got shut down. Some day it will happen.

If you're planning on going to the Cafe Du Nord, get your tickets early. That venue is not a lot bigger than something like the Sunset or Nectar and it will fill up FO SHO!
