I saw these guys the last time they were in town and thought they were absolutely terrible. They seemed bored and disinterested, and I thought it was painfully obvious that they desperately needed a studio and a producer to create their “sound”. To top it all off the crowd was full of record industry folks (in hip Sony Music jackets no less) who's job it is to create buzz around tired, copy cat acts like MGMT.
As they have a big dollar four album deal with Sony, I’m sure I’ll see them again at a festival or opening for somebody else, and I really hope that my next experience is more like the one Chris had on Monday, but I’m not holding my breath.
