Three Imaginary Girls

Seattle's Indie-Pop Press – Music Reviews, Film Reviews, and Big Fun

I'm back in Seattle from a lovely and action packed five days in Austin. I'm here at Remedy Tea braindumping all my thoughts and notes for our imaginary SXSW coverage and I can't stop smiling. 99% of the bands I saw were AMAZING and I can't wait to see them again when they come to Seattle.

Bear with me as I translate my messy notes over the next few days. In the meantime, I'd love to share a video of one of the most blissful moments of the whole fest: the last song of the last SXSW show I saw — Matt & Kim in the 1a Saturday slot.

I think it aptly reveals the serious gaiety of the night/fest/show/week. Especially note: When Matt says "I love you so fucking much" (AWWEE), the crowd (dancing that hard at 1a, yes I can do that), and when Matt stage dives near the end of the song (neat!). Unfortunately the video cuts off before he says goodbye (a sweet moment), but you get to hear the whole song and I think you'll really get a feel for the coverage I'll be pouring your way soon soon soon.
