Three Imaginary Girls

Seattle's Indie-Pop Press – Music Reviews, Film Reviews, and Big Fun

As ChrisB announced a couple weeks ago, the Pixies are coming to Seattle and will be celebrating the 20th anniversary of the album Doolittle by playing it in its entirety.

We now have a date… more than that, Seattle gets two nights of Pixies and Doolittle-ness! We should feel pretty honored because the Pixies are only going to stop in nine cities on this brief, but monumentous tour.

Mark your calendar in pen for the nights of November 12 and 13, 2009 as that’s when Black Francis, Kim Deal, Joey Santiago and David Lovering will take the stage of the Paramount Theatre (it’s even an all ages show!).

The US dates will follow the seven-city/12-date “Doolittle” trek of the UK and Europe. Kicking off on September 30 in Dublin, most dates have already sold out, including a four-night stand at London’s Brixton Academy, where some 20,000 tickets vanished in about an hour. In addition, on August 29, the band will perform a straight-ahead Pixies set of their classic songs spanning their entire career at the Virgin Festival at Burl’s Creek Park outside of Toronto.

Tickets go on sale Saturday, August 1, 2009 at 10am at Tickets.com, in person at the Paramount box office, 24-hour kiosks located outside The Paramount & Moore Theatres, charge by phone at 877-STG-4TIX, or online at STGPresents.org. Start saving your commemorative quarters, tickets are $58.00 (not including applicable fees)… but sure to be well worth it (and of alot more historical importance than your cardboard state quarter folder).

They’ve promised to not only perform all of the songs from Doolittle but also its related B-sides, “Weird at My School,” “Dancing the Manta Ray,” and “Bailey’s Walk” among them. What song do you want to hear?

Here’s one I’m definitely looking forward to:
