Three Imaginary Girls

Seattle's Indie-Pop Press – Music Reviews, Film Reviews, and Big Fun

It's a Country/Alt Country hoedown this release Tuesday!

WILCO! WILCO! WILCO! Sky Blue Sky is amazing as everybody dared not dream it might be. It's well worth the wait and just might measure up to be one of their finest!

Bobbie Gentry (best known for "Ode To Billie Joe") has a reissue that includes two of her studio albums, Fancy and Patchwork. Bobbie Gentry possesses one of my all-time favorite voices, a hairs-standing-on-arms kind of voice. She did an amazing job of bringing the Mississippi delta and all its dangers and charm into her work while still being a woman of the "modern" world in the late sixties and early seventies. These songs stand up to the test of time.

There's also Bob Wills (& His Texas Playboys), The King of Western Swing. It's not just a record title, it's his rightful crown!

Avett Brothers and Gretchen Wilson have new releases too! Giddy up!
