Didn't get your fill of Elvis Costello covers at Pete's birthday show at the Crocodile back in April? Not to worry. The fine local music scene is Seattle has joined forced for yet another Elvis Costello cover night, Elvis Does Seattle, this time to benefit the beyond worthy charity 826 Seattle, a nonprofit writing and tutoring center dedicated to helping youth, ages six to 18, improve their creative and expository writing skills, and to helping teachers inspire their students to write.
Tonight's lineup features Dept of Energy, Downpilot, Graig Markel, Shorthand for Epic, Red Jacket Mine, Zera Marvel, Whiting Tennis, Levi Fuller... well, just look at the calendar listing to your left; the list goes on and on.
TIG's own Chris Estey will be reading poetry at the event too (poetry inspired by Elvis? We're not sure. You're gonna have to just go and find out). At the Sunset in Ballard. I hope someone covers "I Want You."

You hope someone covers "I want you," eh? Well, that might indeed be happening . . . but you'll have to stick around pretty late to hear it.
I'm excited for tonight; it's gonna be awesome!
