Bumber-preview: KEXP interviews
Submitted by elle on August 30, 2007.My feature over on the KEXP Blog for Audioasis this week is an enormous interview feature from eight local bands: Mono in VCF, Seaweed, Das Llamas, Shake Some Action, Fleet Foxes, Sneaky Thieves, Natalie Portman's Shaved Head, and Saturna.They were all great sports for my questions, and you can read their quite hilarious answers over at the KEXP blog page. Key highlight is Kerry of Das Llama's answer to his ultimate MainStage line-up.
However, why not hear what us non-bands have to say? If you'd like to share, here are the questions I asked the bands:
1] Which band or feature are you excited to catch at Bumbershoot?
2] What is your favorite memory of Bumbershoots past?
3] Bumbershoot marks the end of summer--What is something you're disappointed about not having a chance to do this past summer?
4] Fergie, Sean Paul, or Panic! at the Disco?
5] If you were in charge of the MainStage, who would you pick, dead or alive, to headline?

1] Menomena, Miranda July.
2] My first Bumbershoot (in 2000): I introduced myself to (then not-quite-megastar) Neko Case, and mentioned that I'd just moved, and she advised me never, ever to be one of those people who settle here and still have the nerve to complain about rain.
3] Read more trash epics.
4] Oh, I guess Panic!.
5] Alfred Hitchcock.

1] Hmm, so many to choose from! I'm excited to see St. Vincent for the first time, and I'm excited to catch Art Brut again.
2] Magnetic Fields at the Opera House in 2000. Elvis Costello in 1996.

1] I am super excited for Menomena and Aqueduct, one after the other at the same stage, it will be epic!
2] Last year, during Spoon's performance, the actor from Arrested Developement (I don't remember his name) did interpretive dance and mooned the whole crowd. Amazing!
3] I wish I'd had a summer fling.
4] That's a tough one. I think I'd have to say Fergie.
5] Hmm, probably Devo. OR the Bangles!
