Help Erik review the new Radiohead record!

Hey Radiohead superfans! Imaginary writer Erik Gonzalez just posted this as a comment in another blog post, but it's cool enough that I wanted to bring it to your attention.

Considering the rouge nation status of this Radiohead release, I'm going to try something new too. I'm trying to get a review up for In Rainbows (which I love so far) by tomorrow, so if any other TIGers has thoughts/comments/feelings about the new Radiohead album, email them to me! I'm going to try to fuse it all together considering no one really had advanced copies and we can all make up our minds on our own without those irritating critics biasing us (oh wait, um, er).

Anyway, those of you who have In Rainbows, send me any of your comments (erik at threeimaginarygirls.com) by 6PM PST today.

Make your opinions count and go email Erik. It will make his day!

My first time responding to any blog here. But I am a huge Radiohead fan...

This is an excellent album. It's really difficult to listen to anything new from them without any pretense, however, I'm positive this album won't have the enduring, everlasting, blow your F^*%ing mind satisfaction that The Bends through Amnesiac produces. Other than Pablo Honey, I believe this album has the least flow from one song to the next that I dearly love about every Radiohead album. That's not to say they don't flow either...

The thing is with Radiohead, every album is totally different (except Kid A and Amnesiac..duh). Every time I listened to a new album I had no idea what to really expect and every time it blew my mind away with how they progressed with their sound. I don't find anything in this album to be more, or differently satisfying from previous Radiohead. I think this album is Radiohead's most conservative, which of course is totally fine by me. There's nothing bad at all about this album, but it's still hard not to expect something more.

I'll never say I'm disappointed with In Rainbows. But I think this is their second worst album, next to their debut. I'm not knocking it for that either, no one will be able to take the smile off of my face for the next week or two while I listen to it...

Highlights: Reckoner, All I Need, Arpeggio, Jigsaw Falling into Place, and Videotape (like every last song on any Radiohead album)

This is of course is only my initial reaction and only time will prove more. But for now, if The Bends through Kid A are 10/10, Amnesiac a little less, 9.4/10, Hail to the Thief (a little less) 9.2/10, I'd give the new one an 8.5/10 (which is awesome).
