Three Imaginary Girls

Seattle's Indie-Pop Press – Music Reviews, Film Reviews, and Big Fun

As if Yo La Tengo, Built to Spill, Jesus Lizard and Tortoise weren't enough.. the brilliant minds (or not so) behind the lauded Pitchfork Music Festival have added the infamous Flaming Lips to the Sunday ender show, "Write the Night: Set Lists By Request". Ticketholders will be emailed a link to a website in which they can vote on which song they'd like to be played by each band.

Setlist decided by audience!!! ("Kim's Watermelon Gun", "When You Smile", "A Spoonful Weighs A Ton"! I can't decide.)

The 2009 Pitchfork Music Festival — to be held in Chicago's Union Park Friday, July 17 – Sunday, July 19 — is pleased to announce the addition of The Flaming Lips to this year's festival! The unparalleled band will join Yo La Tengo, The Jesus Lizard, Tortoise and Built to Spill in Pitchfork Music Festival's new series, “Write the Night: Set Lists By Request." While the previously announced "Write the Night" participants will be playing on Friday night, The Flaming Lips will close out the festival in grand fashion on Sunday night. When someone buys a ticket they will receive a confirmation email including a link to a web page where they can vote on which of each band’s songs they’d like to hear during their set – and truly be the ones to “Write the Night." Remember, voting began on March 13th when tickets went on sale and it will end on June 12th.
