Three Imaginary Girls

Seattle's Indie-Pop Press – Music Reviews, Film Reviews, and Big Fun

Don’t miss this weirdo. Seriously. Eugene Mirman, better known to me as the voice behind middle-child Gene Belcher on the also hilarious and equally weird TV show Bob’s Burgers, has an uncanny flair for the whimsical that needs to be witnessed live to believe it. He’ll be at the Neptune Theatre on Thursday, November 12 at 8pm with special guest Derrick Brown.

Mirman’s latest tour brings him back to Seattle in support of his newest comedy album, I’m Sorry (You’re Welcome), a totally batshit compilation of stand-up (recorded live at Seattle’s Columbia City Theater last summer!), folksy tomfoolery, and, in his words: “includes a relaxing meditation, there’s sound effects, there’s ringtones, there’s outgoing voicemails—it also has almost 45 minutes of crying.” (P.S. That’s him REALLY crying.) Not to mention an introduction to possibly useful Russian phrases from a Russian-born comedian who left Russia at age four.

It’s hard to say what’s going to make it into the live show—WILL HE CRY? WILL I LEARN RUSSIAN? In the words of Gene Belcher, “Any outcome is possible. Life is chaos.”

We’ve got two tickets to giveaway to this event! For a chance to win them, email us at tiglovesyou {at} gmail {dot} com with the subject line “SORRY NOT SORRY” anytime between now and 5pm, November 10. We will pick a winner and email them that evening.

It’s going to be totally random and totally awesome.
