Gibraltar - Elegant Alibis EP

This Saturday (May 7th), Seattle band, Gibraltar celebrates the release of their new Elegant Alibis EP at the Sunset.

Gibraltar’s songs are tackled with a fearlessness that means each measure is a surprise, filled with gloriously smart riffs and potent lyrical twists.

I read that their mission statement is “taking quiet/loud and making it quieter and louder. and then, doing it again” – which I think means they revel in the Pixies catalog as much as we do, adding to that loud/quiet/loud formula with a camaraderie of edgy energy and boisterous fun that makes each song an anthem.

I haven’t quite picked out a favorite from the EP – but right now the cheer section on “Cold” can’t be beat.
