Three Imaginary Girls

Seattle's Indie-Pop Press – Music Reviews, Film Reviews, and Big Fun

This is a fantastic weekend for indie pop in Seattle!

Saturday night at the Vera Project you'll find Portland's All Girl Summer Fun Band, who, if you haven't heard, fit their name very well (though they still hold up in the Fall too!). AGSFB also features Kathy from the Thermals. Their fun, clever songs laden with harmonies about Canadian boyfriends, secret agents, grass skirts, and crushes on movie stars are sure to warm your heart and keep you dancing long enough to make you forget about the rain. They also haven't played in Seattle in five years. The show is all ages and starts at 8pm.

Sunday night has Crystal Stilts and Cause Co-Motion at Chop Suey. Both are on the fantastic label Slumberland, and will satiate anyone's need for deliciously wonderful British 80's nostalgia, with Cause Co-Motion leaning towards the jerkier, more shambling side, and Crystal Stilts on more of a JAMC side (similar to the fastly rising stars Vivian Girls, even sharing a drummer). This show is 21+.

Go see some pop music and keep warm! I promise it'll be better than your netflix.

What are you excited to see this weekend?
