If you're like me -- in that you have a munchkin at home -- you know how hard it can be to rally and get out to a club. Thankfully, salvation comes for us parental folk with a hankering for rock venues this Sunday, when KEXP hosts its Fourth Annual Father's Day Dance Party. Crafts, cupcakes, breakdancing lessions! This sounds like huge big fun to me. If you feel the same way, you're in luck. Our kind friends at KEXP have offered up a free pair of tickets for one lucky imaginary reader.
Pull up your socks and get on your sneakers, we've got a big weekend ahead!
I feel like it's my birthday or something! I couldn't be more over-giddy about the next 72 hours. Who's with me?
If you head out this weekend, post your weekend recaps add your photo to the Sparkly Indie Pop Flickr Photo Pool so we can keep up on all the indie-oholic festivities!
Latest comment by: David Vicklund: "Hey, I went to the Pop Babylon talk! If I recall correctly, I came in late and sat on my computer taking notes the whole time. Great papers, Mike seemed a little unprepared but he's a brilliant man, clearly."
Some members of Team Imaginary will be at KEXP from 3-6p today (Sunday, March 1) taking your pledges to support KEXP. Listen in as we provide phone support for Larry's Lounge today at 90.3 FM (kexp.org).
Give us a call to make you pledge!
KEXP know how to do it right. This year they are marking the holidays with not one, but two nights of yule goodness... and they are sharing the good times with us by giving us a pair of tickets for each night of Yule to give away to a lucky imaginary reader.
And in classic KEXP style, both evenings' line-ups are bumpin':
Friday 12/12 @ Neumo's
* Grand Archives
* Shearwater
* The Dutchess and The Duke
Saturday 12/13 @ Neumo's
* Thao with the Get Down Stay Down
* Shearwater
* Cancer Rising
You can enter to win tickets for each night, but you must enter each one seperately. To enter, email us at tig @ threeimaginarygirls.com with the subject line "KEXPYule-FRIDAY" or "KEXPYule-SATURDAY" before 4p (PST) on Monday, December 7th and you'll be entered to win.
***Please make sure to include your name in the body of the email***
Latest comment by: laura musselman: "shearwater = perfect in all ways. i can't get enough. if i'm crying while they play, i'll just pretend i'm taking pictures and hide behind the camera so you can't make fun of me. how are they going to follow cancer rising though? that's just... weird."
And it's KEXP FTW!
