The September Issue: I’ve been dying to see this (although I totally hate that they’re selling it as “the REAL Devil Wears Prada“), since I missed its short run in Seattle last year. A chance to see the mysterious and iconic longtime editor of Vogue, Anna Wintour, putting together the biggest issue of the year? Yes, yes and yes. I have a serious love/hate relationship with the fashion & beauty industry, so I’m curious as to which way this will sway me….even if I think I already know the answer.

Shall We Kiss (Un baiser s’il vous plait)
: YAY! Finally. One of my favorite SIFF picks ever (I think it played at the 2007 festival) is on DVD! This fantastic French romantic comedy starts with 2 strangers discussing the repercussions of sharing a kiss, and relating the story of a what happened to a friend who followed through. Charming, surprising, and not-at-all-expected – one of my favorite things about this film was that the women looked REAL, yet still totally gorgeous.  I will definitely buy this one for keeps!

FlashForward: Season 1, Part 1: What would you do if a worldwide blackout gave you a glimpse of what your life will be like 6 months in the future? I’ve been following this series since it aired, and I think it gets better with every episode. If you can put aside the fact that the only way Joseph Fiennes can speak in an American accent is to whisper in a gravelly voice like Bale’s Batman or Rorschach from Watchmen, it’s a really fine piece of entertainment.
