The Crazies @the Metro and Meridian: Normally I wouldn’t recommend anything with Timothy Olyphant, but since I’ve had a years-long crush on Radha Mitchell, I’m hoping she’ll balance it out. Also, I’m partial to a film called The Crazies – because it just puts it out there. No mystery. It just is. Let’s see: small town, sudden insanity, murder, and possible buckets of splatter? I say yes (Amazingly I have never seen the original 1973 Romero film – need to remedy that before I see this one!).

The Ghost Writer
@the Egyptian: Regardless of how you feel about Polanski and his current “situation”, you have to admit that the guy has turned out some great films. His latest opens in Seattle this weekend. A political thriller starring Pierce Brosnan as a shady former British Prime Minister and Ewan McGregor as the ghostwriter hired to pen his memoir; this is getting a lot of 5-star critical acclaim, so I’m interested. And let’s face it: I’ll watch Ewan in pretty much anything. Bonus: Olivia Williams plays the Minister’s wife!

The White Stripes: Under the Great Northern Lights @NWFF: Emmett Malloy followed our beloved Jack & Meg during their 2007 Canadian tour, capturing live performances, impromptu acoustic shows, and behind-the-scenes goodness. I mean, how can you not want to see this? It’s the White Stripes.
