Three Imaginary Girls

Seattle's Indie-Pop Press – Music Reviews, Film Reviews, and Big Fun

The Gourds, photo from popmatters.comSome time in your vast music listening days, my music loving reader, I'm sure you've heard a knee-slappin', dog howlin' cover of Snoop Dogg's Gin and Juice. And if you have fellow music loving friends, I'm sure you've had a huge debate with them on who actually did that cover. Some will say it was Phish. Some will swear it's Leftover Salmon (yes, I'm talking to you, Brian). But in reality, it's a little known, obviously under credited band from Texas called the Gourds. You can listen to the cover here. You can send your disbelieving friends here, here and here. But make sure to send yourself to the Tractor tonight to hear the Gourds live. Maybe even get crazy and order a gin and juice.
