I couldn’t bring myself to recommend the Joaquin Phoenix/Casey Affleck joke gone wrong, so instead I offer up this almost-straight-to-DVD (it had a very limited US release in August) thriller called The Disappearance of Alice Creed starring goddess-faced Gemma Arterton. What can I say? I have a weakness for twisty kidnapping drama…and hot chicks kicking ass.
