This whole Paris Hilton goes-to-jail, gets-out-after-five-days, doesn't-have-to-go-to-court — wait-yes-she-does! — business has me in a kerfluffle. I don't know why it's so fascinating but I can't stop tracking the moment-by-moment updates.

Will she or will she not have to serve out the rest of her time? Will she be in the slammer after all, or will she get to do time at home? And just what does this say about our justice system in the States? All of these pressing questions are on my mind this Friday morning, despite the boatload of work I'm supposed to be doing.
