Three Imaginary Girls

Next Tuesday is election night, I know this. We've been waiting for night since at least November 2004. Chances are, you've got plans for an election night party. In 2004, I was at The Stranger's party at Chop Suey, which was overflowing with people and they really ran out of alcohol. The lines were overwhelmingly long once Ohio and Florida were called red.

This year I'm also planning on hitting an election night party, not sure where yet (probably Neumo's), but I will also once again end up at Chop Suey later that night because a truly excellent powerpop band, The 88, is playing.

Calling Los Angeles home, The 88 is a great guitar-based pop rock band that has some well-written songs with smart lyrics and singable choruses. They had just released their latest record Not Only…But Also in record stores yesterday (it was available on iTunes for the previous week). So far, I'm loving "Go Go Go":

The 88 is playing at Chop Suey on Tuesday, November 4 (but they won't go on until after the polls close). The show is all ages with door at 8pm. Tickets $12adv/$14 door.
