New LTD ED RARE NIB BOAT MP3 on MySpace

Local sloppy pop huggables BOAT have a new album coming out in July and Three Imaginary Girls is pleased as punch to be presenting their album release shows on Friday July 6 (a supa fun Debutante Ball at the Crocodile) and Saturday July 7 (an all-ages hoot at the Vera Project). Of course, we'll be inundating you with details on these shows in the near future -- but let's just say that you should mark your calendars now for the weekend fun-fest of the summer.
To mark the upcoming release they're debuting a song from the album on their MySpace page. But, you have to act fast 'cuase they're only making it available for one day -- the clock is ticking! We all know what a fickle beast MySpace can be. Scheduled maintenance could start up at ANY MINUTE!
The song is titled "(I'm a) Donkey For Your Love" and, oddly enough, the artwork for the single features a kitty.
What do you think? Does it make you hopeful for the future? Giddy? Scared?

I could do without the counting at the beginning. It scared me first thing in the morning and my officemate looked at me funny. Once you get past the falsetto it's a good song. I like the keyboard part. Will there be any other songs leaked before the release?

I think there's something in my DNA somehow makes me especially partial to BOAT songs but the new album is really really really good. The band has certainly grown more comfortable with the recording process but remain true to their lo-fi ethic I love so much. I do hope they let a couple other tracks sneak out. There's one song in particular that I think could be a prom theme song... that BOAT is one smooth operator.
