Three Imaginary Girls

Seattle's Indie-Pop Press – Music Reviews, Film Reviews, and Big Fun

Anvil: The Story of Anvil: This seriously heart-tugging doc is one of my favorite things ever in the history of ever. Steve “Lips” Kudlow and Robb Reiner have been trying for fame since they were teens with their heavy metal band Anvil – and it’s just not happenin’. They decide to make a last ditch effort with their 13th album, “this is Thirteen” – coming across on film as two of the nicest, down-on-their-luck, supportive best friends while doing so. I’m not kidding, I totally cried. You’ll WANT them to succeed too:

Seventh Moon: No idea if this is any good or not, but ½ of The Blair Witch Project helped create and directs this suspenseful tale of two honeymooners abandoned in China with a familiar “Are they alone? Or aren’t they” premise. Looks worthy of a watch (Amy Smart! I like her):

Assassination of a High School President: Reportedly Film Noir for teens, although the trailer makes it look more like a coming-of-age rom-com. Anyway, I’m wondering if it’ll be as good as Brick, even though I think I already know the answer. Here’s hoping Mischa Barton can actually act (I seem to remember being semi-impressed by her wayyyyy back in The Sixth Sense), and I’m curious about Bruce Willis too:
