We here at TIG are honored to have four amazing Seattle-lebritys join us on stage for our 10th Anniversary Rockstar New Wave Karaoke Bash on Friday, June 1st at Chop Suey! We’re sure you know who Jenny George, Megan Seling, Anna Banana, and Jenny Jimenez are, but just in case, here’s a few reasons why we’re stoked that they each agreed to sing a song for us.
Jenny George
What can I say about the amazing Jenny George that y’all don’t already know? Everywhere I go with her, people stop us on the street to say hi and get a hug, or come over to talk to her. Why? Because SHE IS AWESOME. She raised over $7,000 for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society at this year’s Dancing on the Valentine, fulfilled a lifelong dream of meeting her music idols, and she’s always sparkling and charming and beautiful inside and out—and omg. I just love her. I’m confident she’s gonna ROCK the stage.
Megan Seling
There are a many reasons we adore Megan with all our imaginary heart. We admire her endlessly for the brilliant things she's written (which you've likley read all over in The Stranger) and for being Queen of Rad Sweets as the force behind the phenomenon, Bake It In A Cake. She's chatted with Martha Stewart about frosting and even has a Bake It In A Cake book coming out later this year! She was the first person to ever interview TIG (way back in 2003) and since that time she's been super supportive of all things imaginary (for which we are extremely honored and humbled). To have her take the stage at our 10th anniversary blows our mind, just as her performance will take the (bake it in a) cake.
Jenny Jimenez
It's a known fact that Jenny Jimenez is one of the most amazing photographers around. She can capture a moment that will bring a tear to your eye whether you know the photo's subject or situation. I can't tell you how many hours I've spent perusing her online photography portfolio, gasping and in awe of the artwork she creates with a camera. Now take all that talent and put it on a karaoke stage, and you've got Jenny Jimenez blowing our minds at our 10th anniversary karaoke party. Ever since she performed at our first Buttrock Karaoke party (and won the evening's grand prize), we know that it's not worth having a TIG karaoke party if Jenny can't be there. She doesn't sing the song, she performs it. Warning to anyone following Jenny, you've got your work cut out for you!
Anna Banana
You know when Anna "Banana" Lange shows up to a party, it’s going to be a PARTY with a capital P! The woman who runs pretty-pretty Cap Hill boutique Pretty Parlor is one of those ladies who can start a celebration with a big “Wooohooo!” and turn it into a night you’ll never forget. She’s a beautiful force of nature, full of happy smiles and warm hugs and amazingness—and she is gonna light up the Karaoke stage on June 1st! We. Can’t. Wait.
