The first couple weeks of December are turning out to be one of the best weeks for show-goers all year. Hopefully we can all give ourselves early holiday gifts and treat ourselves to some BIG FUN this month.
Each of these three picks for the week features AMAZING line-ups, raising much-needed funds for great causes:
Thursday, December 3 at Neumo’s
A Benefit for Musicares: Every Little Counts New Order Cover Night
Imaginary Amie went in to greater and much better detail about why this night of New Order covers will rule, but really who needs to know much more than NEW ORDER COVERS by some of Seattle’s Finest!!! And “every bit of that door money is going to MusicCares — a vital charity org that provides emergency financial and medical assistance to people in the music community.”
I can’t wait to see what DJ Erik Blood will be covering. True Faith? (more info)
Saturday, December 5 at Chop Suey
A Benefit For James Atkins featuring:
- Hammerbox (Carrie and Harris of Hammerbox)
- The Gits feat. Rachel Flotard (Of Visqueen)
- Selene Vigil (of 7 Year Bitch)
- Alcohol Funnycar
- Coffin Break
- STAG
- Gretta Harley
UPDATE! When I first shared news of this show, it looked like the Friday evening show was sold out and I encouraged you to do all you could to find a ticket (craigslist or FB posts from folks who couldn’t go at the last minute)… BUT our prayers were answered and they added another show – and EARLY one on SATURDAY! Here are the details of the JUST ANNOUNCED matinee show:
- SAME amazing line-up as the evening show
- doors at 1:30pm on Saturday, December 5
- Get your tickets before they sell out!
It’s an understatement to say this show will be epic and talked about for years to come – which is great, because it’s for a great cause: to raise money for James Atkins who brought you so much happiness as a member of Hammerbox. (more info)
Saturday, December 5 at The Showbox
SMOOCH: Seattle Musicians for Childrens Hospital featuring:
- The Afghan Whigs
- Sir Mix-A-Lot
- Mary Lambert
Another great cause that is ALMOST sold out. General admission *is* sold out, but (as of this writing) VIP tickets are available. They come with all kinds of perks, including the warm fuzzes of knowing you’ve helped this fundraiser for Children’s Hospital.
There are so many good reasons to leave the house!
