Does anyone remember the column Chuck Klosterman wrote for Spin a few years back about how Lou Reed doesn't have any friends because he wears leather pants? I can't find it online but the thesis of it is that Lou Reed does not have any true friends because true friends would laugh at him for wearing leather pants. Instead, he's surrounded by yes-men who would tell him that he looks great (and probably that Metal Machine Music was brilliant).
So maybe Bumbershoot doesn't have any friends because they've signed a sponsorship deal with Crocs shoes. Says the Daily Swarm:
After spending the last few years building an extensive sponsorship portfolio loaded with sports properties, Crocs, Inc. is adding music festivals, community events and other types of entertainment-centric properties to its mix.
So far this year, Crocs has signed or is finalizing contracts with roughly 30 non-sports properties, including Milwaukee’s Summerfest, the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival presented by Shell, Seattle’s Bumbershoot and Manchester, Tenn.’s Bonnaroo Music & Arts Festival.
Hat tip to Idolator. I think.
Maybe all that cash means they'll bring Fergie back!
Here's some video of the people from IHateCrocs.com (who I really want to be friends with) cutting up and then blowing up some Crocs with fireworks.
