If you just tuned in at 6pm sharp for the Best Ambient show on Mondays on KEXP…
…and were expecting the best ambient music, you probably just got the living shit scared out of you by this band:
Black Eyes and Neckties just played a pretty intense 35 minute set at the KEXP Lounge. It was loud and rockin' in that room but BENT put on a helluva show. Part campy horror movie, part glam and hardcore show, it was the kick in the ass I needed as my energy level was fading midway through day 3 of Bumbershoot.
The rhythm section of Davey Crypt and The Dead Chef (who was filling in for The Fist on bass, who was said to be overseas) drove the tempo while singer Bradley Horror rolled across the stage in a wheelchair. (Some research said he broke a foot and sprained both ankles while jumping off a ledge while performing a few weeks ago. Thanks Lineout!) It's good to see that the injury hasn't slowed the band down any and is still delivering their theatrical rock.
