I just found news of a recent Lily Allen MySpace blog post that has me saying BRAVO Lily — for both her wise admission of being embarrassed about her inebriated state at the recent Glamour Awards and beautiful pink hair-do.
Really, I couldn't have said it better (not that I was honored with an award or even invited to the Glamour event). I am sure most of us have had to write (or, ahem, text message) such day-after apologies, and Lily's recount is spot on. As a matter of fact, if she and I both happen to be at the awards next year, I will certainly buy her a drink.
Here's the full story from People.com:
Lily Allen is expressing remorse for a drunken night that required her brother help her home. In a blog entry on her official MySpace page posted Wednesday, Allen, 23, says she feels "awful" for being "very drunk" at the Glamour Women of the Year Awards in London.
"Last time I wrote here, I was defending my honor and dignity, explaining my innocence and also outrage at the press for insinuating my behavior was embarrassing," she wrote, referring to being criticized for topless photos. "This time I'm putting my hands up, I got very drunk last night, too drunk. It's not cool getting that drunk."
The "Smile" singer, donning hot pink hair, won the editor's special prize for her multi-faceted career, before being carried out of the ceremony.
Allen thanked her younger brother, Alfie for coming to the rescue and helping her arrive home safely. She also warned readers about the effects of drinking too much, but said the event was "fun."
"Kids, drink responsibly or you'll end up looking like this, not pretty!," Allen wrote. "Was quite fun though, from what I can remember."
And, I *have* to post about this…
