Today I was perusing the iTunes store, like I do when I'm trying to find a copy of Neneh Cherry's "Buffalo Stance" and I noticed, to my amazement, that the #1 song download on iTunes is current Jeff Buckley's 1994 classic Cohen cover, "Hallelujah". Now, I am all for Jeff Buckley and any posthumous fame he might get (kids, remember, don't swim in the dear ol' Mississipp), but can anyone explain why "Hallelujah" is currently #1? Did I miss some huge pop culture moment? I'm guessing that is it, or maybe it has something to do with American Idol. Ugh.
