Huge imaginary thanks to Lineout, Seattle Powerpop Blog, and Ear Candy for more kind words about our Exile in {Imaginary} Girlville birthday show tonight at Chop Suey!
Three Imaginary Girls wouldn't even exist if it weren't for the amazing, supportive music community we have here in Seattle, so reading these words from our fellow musically-inclined scribes really means the world to us.
Look at me, getting all sentimental on our birthday. Sniff sniff. I will be putting those tears in my proverbial beers (which will really be Absolut Mandrin and sodas, thankyouverymuch) and raising a toast to all of you tonight!
From Lineout:
Liz Phair is releasing a deluxe expanded Exile in Guyville remains a start-to-finish masterpiece. To salute this fact, tomorrow night Three Imaginary Girls take over Chop Suey for Exile in {Imaginary} Girlville, wherein a plethora of local bands/musicians—including Visqueen’s Rachel Flotard, Ms. Led’s Lesli Wood, Team Gina, Tennis Pro, and Throw Me the Statue—tackle Exile in Guyville’s 18 miraculous tracks in order.
Nine acts, two tracks each, with events commencing at 9pm (with co-hosting duties supplied by yours truly.) No spoilers here, except that Throw Me the Statue will be playing my personal favorite Guyville track. More info here, see you there.
From SPPB:
15 years ago Liz Phair released Exile in Guyville, her song for song answer to The Rolling Stones' Exile on Main Street. 6 years ago the awesome web site Three Imaginary Girls launched. Celebrate both anniversaries at the Exile in {Imaginary} Girlville bash Wednesday night at Chop Suey.
From Ear Candy:
Today the best Web site in Seattle is celebrating its sixth birthday.
No. It's not Ear Candy. Although right now I am blushing since now that I know you think that highly of me.
The ladies over at Three Imaginary Girls are going to be blowing out some candles later tonight at their birthday party and it is a party you shouldn't miss.
The show, which will be at Chop Suey, is going to be amazing. Doors are at 8 and the fun starts at 9. It is coyly titled "Exile in Imaginary Girlville" and it will include nine local bands performing two songs from Liz Phair's "Exile In Guyville" (which is celebrating its 15th anniversary and was reissued yesterday).
See you there, indeed.
