Three Imaginary Girls

Seattle's Indie-Pop Press – Music Reviews, Film Reviews, and Big Fun

Jona Bechtolt (AKA YACHT) has officially quit the K records superstar project The Blow.

Jona Bechtolt, whose production skills, instrumentation, and beats can be found on The Blow's albums Poor Aim: Love Songs and Paper Television will no longer be a member of the band, in the studio or on the road – he is leaving in order to concentrate all of his energy on his primary project, YACHT. The Blow will continue on as the project of Khaela Maricich.

Although he is enormously proud of his work with The Blow, as well as happy for The Blow's continued success, he would like to clarify any confusion: the reason he was not on stage during any of this year's Blow performances is because he was performing live as YACHT, and working on his new YACHT album I Believe In You. Your Magic Is Real. which was released last month via Marriage Records.

A new YACHT DVD will be released this winter, featuring never-before-seen tour documentaries, music videos, and jokes. Bechtolt has also been documenting life on the road via a series of YouTube clips called "YACHT On Tour Forever."

To mark the occassion, we've got a couple new YACHT MP3s: "The Summer Song" (feat. Claire L. Evans) and "It's Coming To Get You" (Eats Tapes Remix)" for your listening pleasure.
