Three Imaginary Girls

Seattle's Indie-Pop Press – Music Reviews, Film Reviews, and Big Fun

While you're all probably still reeling from the Capitol Hill Block Party lineup announcement (or at least, debating if you're gonna splurge on the pre-sale tickets), we've got not one but two more lineup announcements for ya: the Noise for the Needy benefit (June 11-15) and the Sub Pop 20th anniversary show (July 12-13)

I'm gonna just post the announcements here. Good times this summer, people, good times!

Noise for the Needy:

Noise for the Needy, a Seattle-based non-profit organization whose goal is to raise money for charitable causes through the production of live music shows, is proud to announce the first batch of this year’s bigger-than-ever-before events, which are set to include a night of David Schmader’s commentary on Showgirls as well as performances by Talib Kweli, Matt & Kim, Two Gallants, the Black Angels and more. Proceeds this year will benefit Urban Rest Stop, an organization that provides a clean, safe and welcoming facility where individuals and families can come and use restrooms, shower and laundry facilities in Seattle at no cost to patrons.

David Schmader’s Showgirls: The Movie event will kick off this year’s festivities; the critically-acclaimed writer and performer will host his annotated screening of one of America’s most amazingly awful films at The Triple Door on May 14th at 7 PM.

On June 11th, Austin, TX-based psych rock champions The Black Angels play with LA’s The Warlocks at Neumos , while on June 12th, Saddle Creek recording artists Two Gallants will be at the Tractor Tavern with The Quiet Ones and Facts about Funerals; doors for both shows are at 8 PM.

Energetic NYC-based drums and keys phenoms Matt and Kim play with Yacht, No-fi Soul Rebellion and Feral Children at Neumos on June 14th while legendary, critically-acclaimed emcee Talib Kweli plays with Common Market, Grayskul and Gabriel Teodros at the Showbox in the Market for NFTN on June 15th; doors for June 14th are at 8 PM and 9PM for June 15th.
