An over-excited fire enthusiast set fire to the large wooden man for Nevada's famous Burning Man festival yesterday — a full 5 days before it was supposed to go up in smoke. The free spirit was apprehended by the Man (not the burning one, but the law enforcing one) and charged with, among other things, arson.

Nothing like getting charged with arson for setting on fire a giant statue whose sole lot in life is to be set on fire.
