Three Imaginary Girls

Seattle's Indie-Pop Press – Music Reviews, Film Reviews, and Big Fun

Scene from The Tenth Man, with Ariel driving an old yellow car while wearing a Purim crown

You’ve got the middle-age doldrums. You plan to take your girlfriend to go visit your father in Buenos Aires. But your girlfriend bails. You show up at your dad’s Foundation, where all of the Jews in the neighborhood go to get help with everything—meat, shoes, medication, wigs, sanctuary. He’s not there. He’s out helping. Just like when you were a kid. Harrumph. But… as long as you’re here, and your girlfriend is breaking up with you, and what, you wonder, does it all mean, well, you might as well help out too. And see what starts to fall away.

{The Tenth Man screens Saturday, May 28, 2:30pm at SIFF Cinema Uptown}
