Three Imaginary Girls

Seattle's Indie-Pop Press – Music Reviews, Film Reviews, and Big Fun

Pubic Enemies: In general I’ve noticed that people either love this or hate it, but I am among the folks who LOVE. Johnny Depp is perfect (as always) as the notorious John Dillinger, being chased down by FBI agent Christian Bale in this gorgeous, atmospheric and very bloody crime drama. No surprises as to the outcome here, but Michael Mann sure knows how to film those shootouts – and do I even need to mention how gorgeous Marion Cotillard is in those period dresses? I didn’t think so.

Plaguers: This virtually unknown sci-fi horror flick—directed by someone you’ve never heard of, starting people you’ve never heard of—has been getting some pretty decent buzz so I’m anxious to check it out. People trapped on a space ship with vicious alien zombies? I’m all over it. Looks like it could fall into the “so bad, it’s good” category.

Lost: Season 5: The second-to-last season of this crazypants show is FINALLY out and thankgod, because I need to catch up before Season 6 starts. Given the depression level at the end of Season 4, I’m wondering how much more in despair these characters can sink, and I definitely want to find out. Plus, you know, SAWYER = yummy.
