File this away under random, but if you're in Seattle and have been yearning for a new feathered pet, now's your chance. The Seattle Animal Shelter has over 100 parakeets available for adoption.

The birds were taken from their previous owner, who had them all in one cage in the living room of his one-bedroom apartment because he was told that any shelter would euthanize the little peepers if he brought in so many. Which is kinda sweet, in a very sad and (noisy, dropping-filled) way.
