Seattle's Indie-Pop Press – Music Reviews, Film Reviews, and Big Fun

Dresden Dolls photo from Wikipedia.orgAmanda Palmer, most famously of the Dresden Dolls, posted this on her MySpace blog a couple of days ago. I just saw it this morning:

I am going to be recording with these amazing musicians for the next week and we're going to finish up the project by playing 3 nights in seattle AT THE RECORDING STUDIO, which is a converted theater and totallly groovy joint, and filming the shows. We'll be playing a variety of new songs from my album (fully re-orchestrated), covers (we're currently working on madonna and brecht) and some orchestrated dolls songs.

The Space is teeny (it only fits about 100 people – including the crew and 6-10 musicians on the stage) so there are very few tickets available. Buy them pronto because they will sell out. No tickets will be sold at the door.

Please also remember that the band not only records here, but that this is their LIVING SPACE: they are inviting us into their home. We may come up with some funky themes for the show and ask you to bring along some props or paint or other helpful lights and devices so if you do land tickets, be prepared for an email about that and other codes of conduct. they've just recently moved into this space so let's help them funk it up. It sounds like it'll be a hell of a show. I bought a ticket for Wednesday's show early Saturday morning, so hopefully there'll still some available. They were $15, plus $3 in service fees.

I wonder if this will be one of the covers played (and should definitely be added to the list of top videos featuring puppets):
