I remember hearing this song about 10 years ago. I don't remember exactly when, or where, or why, but all I know is that when my friend burned this CD for me a couple of years ago, I heard this song again and got *really* excited. Criticize David Gray for whatever you want, this song is amazing. Try not singing along to it, I dare you.
What the hell is he singing about? Did he just discover the "echo" effect? Who authorized those soaring synth strings? Who even cares, this song makes me feel like I'm driving a convertible somewhere sunny, somewhere the exact opposite of where I am now (New England, winter).
Please stand in awe at the fact that this man made the verse of a hit single with the following lyrics: "If you want it, come and get it, for crying out loud." Moreover, that is precisely the part you can't NOT to sing along with.
Also he rhymed "loud" with "doubt," maybe pronounced "dowd" like he had a cold. You wish you could.
