Three Imaginary Girls

Seattle's Indie-Pop Press – Music Reviews, Film Reviews, and Big Fun

This seems fitting on a day when Chop Suey — the heir apparent to the local indie rock live show crown since the closure of the Croc six months ago* — announced that they've been purchased by K's Dream, a nightclub based in Chiba City, Japan: a cryptic message from the Crocodile Cafe website.

In case the message comes down in the coming days, here it is:

Elitism:

1. The belief that certain persons or members of certain classes or groups deserve favored treatment by virtue of their perceived superiority, as in intellect, social status, or financial resources.
2. a. The sense of entitlement enjoyed by such a group or class. b. Control, rule, or domination by such a group or class.

This simple vocabulary definition has taken the place of any other content on the Croc's website.

Is owner Stephanie Dorgan trying to tell us something? Or is someone trying to tell us something about her?

* Can you believe it's been six months since the Croc closed?
