I've actually never played Guitar Hero — but after perusing the list of songs that are featured in the recently released Guitar Hero 3, I might just be able to complete.

Sure there's some stinkers on the list (one need only see the names Die Hoten Toten and Slipnot to revert back to your original thought on the Guitar Hero phenomenon), but I think Weezer and Sonic Youth songs make it pretty cool. I think I could nail the Stone Roses and Kaiser Chief (and, ok, Guns n Roses) songs. 

I was thinking that it would be cool if Guitar Hero 4 allowed me to try my hand at Blur, Death Cab, and Magnetic Fields (there's a ukulele function on Guitar Hero, right?). What songs do you think should be on Guitar Hero 4?
